3 Steps to Building a Successful Revenue Stream – Step 3: Package & Monetize

Package & Monetize

It’s exciting to start off a new year. It gives you a chance to start fresh and set new goals and standards. You’ve set your plan in motion by taking stock of your current resources [Step 1: Take Inventory]. You’ve learned how much your resources go for on the open market [Step 2: Learn Your Worth]. Now you’re ready to present them to your audience. But how do you package them up to sell?

Looking at the resources you have, are there any that complement the other? Can any of them stand alone? Group them accordingly. For example, if you’ve written a book or published any type of manuscript, these can most likely be sold separately. But say you’ve got a nutritional plan for each day of the week (recipe booklets) or as a tax professional you have a series of tips or steps to take for the first quarter of the year (tax guides). Those can be sold as packages.

Even when it comes to sharing the lessons you’ve learned for speaking engagements, most likely they can be broken down into bite-sized trainings in the form of workshops. Have two or more related lessons? Now you have a workshop series. Use this worksheet to help you organize your packages.

At this point you should be very proud of yourself. You’ve done the work to figure out what resources to make available to your audience and offer them at competitive prices to open up a nice revenue stream. If you have your own website you can quickly add these products or services to start selling them. If you do not, another tried and true way to reach your audience is through email marketing. Email is almost 40 times more effective than Facebook and Twitter combined in helping your business acquire new customers.*

If your business does not already have a website then one of your goals this year should be to make sure it does.
